By all means,
let’s take five.
But I gotta stop at Willie’s first for my shoes.
That’s across from the VFW.
And then I need to pick up my custom framed print.
So can we meet at 10 am at Goodbye Blue Monday?
I hope we beat the student rush.
Or maybe I’m fooling myself.
Oh, I see it’s snowing again. Better wear my boots.
I’ll be as contented as a cow if this winter ever ends.

FYI: All photos were taken in historic downtown Northfield, Minnesota, in February.

Thank you. I decided to have a little creative fun with those photos.

I literally have “Signs” singing in my head . . . Sign, sign Everywhere a sign Blockin’ out the scenery Breakin’ my mind Do this, don’t do that Can’t you read the sign?
We do not have snow here but sand is not something you want to track in either. Who does not like a contented cow and that coffee shop signage grabs your attention.
Happy Day – Enjoy 🙂

I actually had the song running through my brain when I wrote this post. That dates us, doesn’t it?
Ah, yes, sand would not be good tracked indoors either. Up at the lake, feet are washed upon returning from the beach to the cabin.

Ha! – love it! I would say it makes us cool (not dates us).

Oh, yes, “cool.” Far better perspective than “dates us.”

Fun post!

I wanted to have a little fun with these photos and came up with the idea to create a short work of fiction using words from the signs to shape the story.

Cute. I would love to meet for coffee after stomping my boots. Another 70 degree day here today. 😊

We do stomp our boots here in Minnesota. Folks will be stomping them today in northwestern Minnesota. And we may be on Thursday. The weather here this morning is cloudy and around 45 degrees, but unsettled. Possible hail, high winds and tornadoes are in the forecast for southern Minnesota this evening.

Be nice to have a cup of coffee before heading to the frame shop to have my picture framed and then to the VFW for a tall cold one.
My picture is going to a museum. Sorry, I have to skip coffee and the tall cold one at the VFW will have to wait as I am transferring my membership to a VFW Post that has no club house – and therefore, no beer. That is OK, because as my wife’s care giver, it would be stupid for me to have even more than one beer. Just can’t afford being less than clear minded. I did enjoy Northfield when I was there last.

Gunny, it’s good to hear from you. It’s been awhile. I’m sorry to hear that your wife is not doing well. Thank you for being a loving caregiver to her.
