Sitting near the back of the church, I studies these words, thinking in German until I remembered I was inside a Norwegian church. After the service, I talked with historian and preservationist Bob Dyrdahl. The scriptural quote comes from John 3:16. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” Sure enough, upon closer examination I determined that Bob knows his Norwegian.
