At 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, the outdoor temperature in my Faribault backyard registered at 66 degrees. This photo shows the indoor/outdoor temp monitor atop my refrigerator.
IT WAS A THROW the windows open kind of day here in Southern Minnesota. Let the wind sail the scent of spring through the closed-up winter house. Air out the rooms. Turn off the furnace because it’s warmer outside than in.
Eat lunch outdoors. In the sunshine. In temps reaching about 70 degrees.
Tuesday was the kind of winter day that seems pinch me unbelievable. Is this really March in Minnesota? Or is it summer?

NICE enjoy it to the max! Weather is unseasonable warm here too, so much so that the annual world ice carving competition is worried about it being to warm and the lack of snow in Anchorage forced them to get a train load from Fairbanks for the Iditarod dog sled race. The weather folk types tell us it’s because of the Pacific Decadal Oscillation. Whatever it is caused by I am enjoying it to!
I’m enjoying the warm weather, too. Makes winter go faster.
Yay!!! Maybe all of these southerly winds have finally reached you! Trees and shrubs are beginning to leaf out here and fruit trees are blossoming. Like you, I love this weather!
Not budding trees here. Yet. Sounds like spring has definitely settled in in Oklahoma.

It’s been beautiful lately. I’ve aired my house out a few times. I just hope the early spring isn’t a sign of a hot and dry summer.
I hope not either. Temps are more normal here today. The heat was great while it lasted.
I will admit I was a little excited with the warm temps on Tuesday. I’m not quite ready for the hot and humid to come, but 70…. I can handle that 🙂
I keep forgetting that some people, like you, love winter.
Spring has sprung at least for a day or two. That rodent down in Pa. seems to have got it right this year.. We hit 78 degrees yesterday 3/09 what a way to make the mind and body feel alive..

What? I best check the East Coast weather forecast. First day of spring break for the son at Tufts. No flying home for him. He’s a poor college students. We are poor parents.
For us here in Texas we’ve hit 90’s! Way too hot for March; today it was 78, and now cold front has come through and it’s down to 60 with a foretasted low of 43! Crazy weather
We woke up to snow covering the ground this morning and flurries also. The winter coats are back out. What a contrast from a week ago.
Oh my gosh, I should say so. It hard to figure out this weather. Tomorrow morning we are to have another frost. So glad I decided to wait on bringing my bougainvillea out of garage.
