      Thank you. My curiosity led me to The Pie Room and Elsie, who had taken a break, poked her head in to say, “hi.” And that is how I learned about her pie duties. I instantly knew this would make for a gem of a story.

  2. What a wonderful tribute that you wrote about this sweet little lady. The photo of her gnarled hand tells the story of this woman’s dedication to her church and all the wonderful years she has supported it through her work and her life.

      Harriet, you totally understand why I took that photo of Elsie’s hand. I’m always seeking ways to capture a story with my photos and this image truly equals 1,000 words.
