…you pull into your hotel parking lot and park your vehicle across the chain length fence from a row of Demco gravity flow wagons.
Join me this week for a series of stories from Luverne, a farming community located in the extreme southwestern corner of Minnesota, right next to South Dakota and Iowa. It’s a community worth visiting, as I will show you via photos and words.

Looks like a great week ahead—in many ways! 🙂
Yes, one crazy week ahead. I think you’ll enjoy the posts from Luverne.
You know you are from NY when you read the line “Demco gravity flow wagons” and you have no clue what they are!
Great comeback, Hillary. These wagons are used for hauling harvested grain (corn and soybeans).
Bring on the bloggin’, always enjoy your posts!
Thank you, Jackie. I intend to continue writing and photographing, that’s for sure. They are my passions.
Love Luverne–enjoy! Do you have time to get up to Pipestone too? If so, be sure to stop at Lange’s for breakfast or lunch and have some pie.
Amy, my Luverne series is from a visit there in late July. We did not have time to visit Pipestone as we had to get to my hometown of Vesta for the annual Kletscher family reunion. I’ve been to Pipestone, but only for the Hiawatha Pageant, which I don’t believe is held any more.
Well, you’ll just have to go back. 🙂
You are right. We could have spent more time in Luverne, too. Why is it we never have enough time?
It’s a cruel trick of time.
