This brings back the memories of having to clear off the roof in the frozen tundra. Something I do not miss doing – ha! Great Post and love how you did the captures:) Happy Week
I’ve never cleared snow from a roof as I don’t like heights. I hold the ladder and yell, “Be careful.” And then when the snow is off the roof, I shovel it away from wherever it should not be, like on the driveway and patio. The husband helps with that, too.
That made me chuckle!!! Looks like we may be getting a bit more tomorrow but hopefully it is going to go south with the big storm. Keeping my fingers crossed. Love the effects on the photos!
I decided I needed to make this creative, otherwise shoveling snow off the roof isn’t exactly too exciting. I wonder if my dear husband will have anything to say about this post and my “special effects” and song writing “talent?”
I am sure he will shake his head. And tell you that next time YOU can go up on the roof. 🙂
Oh, no, I never thought of that. He won’t get me onto the roof to shovel snow. No way. I’m part of the ground crew.
Support staff????
Whose side are you on here?
Heehee!!! Yours, all the way! No question about it.
I know. You’ve got my back all the way, my friend. and I am beyond appreciative.
Hope the rooftop isn’t too steep – looks like dangerous work.
Part of our roof is really steep. But he did not climb on and shovel snow from that part. No matter the slope, you have to be careful because it’s slippery on a snow-covered roof.
Sure don’t envy him the job. We don’t usually get enough snow in any year to worry about shoveling even the walks. Looks like tonight and tomorrow might be a first!
We were in the Cities yesterday. Amazing amount of rooftop snow there. I would think there would be great risk for damage. We have a metal roof so it’s not an issue, thankfully!!!!
So, with the metal roof, does the snow slide off in sheets? I’ve often wondered about that, if you risk an avalanche atop your head.
Well……..let’s say, if you were in the wrong spot at the right/wrong time it could be unpleasant. It will “unload” usually when the the sun has come out long after several snows have stopped. There are never ice dams or risk of too much weight on the roof!!!! Love it!!!! We did the roof several years ago. Well worth it. (It’s not a standing seam style)
Thanks for the info. We put on a new roof two years ago. Maybe should have considered a metal roof, but cost scared us.
We weighed that but it’s a more permanent fix than asphalt, etc, and long term $$$$$ has to be figured. It helps to alleviate other problems that arise from leaky roofs, ice, etc.
Excellent points.
Are you still shovelling snow? That must be a good way to burn calories. Spring is on its way I’m sure! xx
You are correct about burning calories. Shoveling snow does just that. We’ll be shoveling snow for a few more months yet. Last year our final snowfall came in May, which was exceptionally late.
That just looks dangerous to me. The cute captions made me smile 🙂
Yeah, I never like when he climbs on the roof, especially the steep part to fix the TV antenna.
No fun no fun, but necessary. I am sure there is a Dr. Seuss lyric somewhere in there as well. I do not like snow on the rooftop, Dan-I-am.
I’m laughing out loud here, Dan-I-am.
My mouse froze on ‘there he goes.’ So I could only speculate for a while: does he do a luge off the roof? Glad to have full mouse function now and see your Post was only in praise of sainthood!
Yup, no bad ending.
No way he could have done our roof – way too steep all way around house. Maybe we need to revisit that groundhog again and see if he’s changed his mind!
He stays off the steep portion of our roof, at least for snow removal.
So fun!
The coming up with the lyrics part, but not the shoveling snow part.
Point taken. 🙂
