I DON’T KNOW THE REASON behind the sign.
I don’t even know who lives in this house along Rose Street in Owatonna.
I don’t know the story. I wish I did. But if I stopped every time I wanted to hear a story, I would get nowhere.
A decorative rock, inscribed with these words, sits at the base of the cross:
Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear.
And that is all I know. A dear loved one is missed by someone inside the “Jesus Saves” house.

They are very loved and very missed. Love this picture.
I thought the same.
I definitely would have to gently tap on the door to know more of this story! I would assume they are gently souls whose sensitivities have been impacted (as have all of us) by the passing of dear ones and have chosen to share the truth that our walk here on this mortal globe is just for a time and we continue to live, once we’ve passed through that threshold destined for each.
I would assume the same. I did ask several people in Owatonna if they knew the story and no one did.
Now….THAT’S interesting!!!! I would definitely have a visit in mind (maybe will ask a friend of mine…….)
It’s my house
And I would love for you to share with me and my readers the story behind the “Jesus Saves” message and the cross.
Under the “Welcome” sign on the door, I noticed another sign but it wasn’t clear enough to read. I wondered if it had another very nice message, so I enlarged . . . enlarged the photo until I could read it. “Use side door” it says! Oh well, inquiring minds have to know!
I did the same thing, Carol, because I also have an inquiring mind.
Lovely words.
I agree.
It looks almost like a public building – flag displayed, welcome sign, and a notice of some sort on the door. Now that you’ve grabbed our interest you will have to finish the story.
The sign on the front door says to use another door. As far as I know, it’s “just a house.” But it could very well be something else.
Nope, it’s my home 🙂
Home is even better. Please share your story in a follow-up comment. Would love to hear more from you.
Beautiful.
I love this photo.
And I love Jesus! xx
Amen.
