THE AGED SHED STANDS as a canvas along Olmsted County Road 1 for artwork that reminds me of the 1960s.
Peace signs and LOVE. Stand by me. The sun will come out.
If I knew the story behind the art, the words, the artists, I’d tell you. But I don’t.
This shed is situated on private property between Pleasant Grove and Simpson, south of Rochester, near Root River County Park. Driving northbound, you’d miss it hidden by trees. Southbound I just barely caught the flash of color through nature’s cover.
Whatever the story, I am intrigued. I don’t consider this graffiti. It’s art and poetry, emotions expressed. All those hearts and peace symbols point to soulful individuals who care deeply, live joyfully and love life.

isn’t it fun to find little discoveries like this off the beaten path? Just like those old dilapidated buildings this one makes me wonder what the story is behind it. Fun pictures.

As much as I’ve traveled these roads I have never spotted this gem. Great catch Audrey! Right smack dab in the middle is the name “Ehryn”, I love that spelling of the common name Erin (Aaron)
With the brush and trees, it’s not that easy to spot. Winter would be the ideal time to get a really good shot.
If there are any nearby houses you could ask them about it, or make up a story. If I told the story it’d be a group of friends- maybe they were hippies, and the shed is like their time capsule
I like the idea of creating a story, like you started. Hippies seems fitting.
You should do it, sometimes I create a story on my blog like that, I’ll make up conversations with my pets, or buzzard events surrounding a location, etc.

Interesting shed! Looks like someone has taken care of it over time as there looks to be a flag in the upper right hand corner that is still in moderately good shape. Next to the flag it looks like a drawing of and old instamatic camera with a flashcube on it with the word “smile” painted on the corner of the shed under the flag. The painting (with the bird) looks like a family crest.

I wonder how beautiful the patina will be as the paint weathers? Fading, flaking, and rusting material has a beauty of its own.
