A front window at Vintique in downtown New Prague. The shop specializes in vintage Czech jewelry and in vinyl records.
WHEN I SHOP, it’s sometimes with my camera. I’m shopping for photo ops. Most of the time shopkeepers are OK with me photographing inside their businesses as they recognize the value of media exposure. But occasionally I encounter a resistant merchant. Not that that happened while snapshotting these scenes. I photographed outside the shops, thus no permission was needed in a publicly visible place.
I just liked what I saw in the windows of the antique and music shops in downtown New Prague.
I mean, how fun would it be to play one of these guitars? I pumped up the color saturation a tad because, well, I can. Call it artistic license while photo shopping.
TELL ME: Do you notice window displays? What appeals to you in a display?

You know I love to look in windows just like you and find that perfect shot. I do notice window displays and my favorite store in Brevard always has the perfect display that changes frequently. It is always eye catching and creative and features some of their newest merchandise so it pulls me in. Every single time.
And what is your favorite store in Brevard?
Yes, I do notice window displays and I especially appreciate the Artistic “tweaks” of photo shop.
Your photography is spectacular, Jackie.
The town I live in does a great job with window displays, especially the pops of color, unique items, bling that makes you want to go in and check out the place. Now I want to kick back and listen to you rock that pink guitar 🙂 Happy Day – Enjoy!
Oh, Renee, you are hilarious. I can’t read a single note of music let alone try to play a pink guitar. You will have to imagine.
It sounds like your local businesses are doing a great job of drawing customers into shops.
We would make a great team – I am not great at reading music and cats would run away once I started singing – ha!
Even the restaurants get into it. I have tried to do a photo walk, but there is usually too many people around – want to be respectful.
Well, let me know when you want to start that girl band. You can be the lead singer and guitarist. I’ll handle the PR. 🙂
Wow! I want that VOX amplifier! Wait! I would have to learn to play something to plug into it 🙂
Love your humor!
Window displays always catch my attention.
Then they serve their purpose with you.
The Rare Pair in Northfield has wonderful displays…always…it’s fun to watch them change.
Whenever I’m in Northfield, I’m typically impressed by the window displays.
