Preparing for a winter storm in Minnesota December 8, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — Audrey Kletscher Helbling @ 10:14 AM

Winter drive between Faribault & Morristown, 2008.

Stocked up on eggs and milk.

Got gas for the snowblower.

Now waiting

for the winter storm.

Dreamed about a tornado.

Woke up

frightened.

No school?

he hopes.

Only a trace of snow.

Hopes dashed.

Maybe tomorrow.

Will we see wind-sculpted snowbanks by Wednesday here in southeastern Minnesota?

We got 16 inches of snow here in La Crosse, and are expected to get even more today. The university was shut down, so I didn’t have to go to school or work. 🙂

What is it about La Crosse always getting so much snow? But I bet you don’t mind with classes canceled at UW-L and no work. We got 10 inches of snow in Faribault, last I heard. I’ll be posting a blog shortly about the major winter storm that hit southeastern Minnesota.
