HOPE. It’s a four-letter word that holds so much promise.
Hope will be my mantra for 2015, after a year that’s been especially challenging.
How do you define hope?
I’d like some synonyms to stash in my memory bank, to pull out, to examine, to consider when life presents seemingly insurmountable challenges, when grey prevails, when I need encouragement. We all have days when we need nothing more than hope.
My blogger/real-life friend, Sue, awhile ago posted this quote from one of my favorite poets, Emily Dickinson:
Hope is the thing with feathers
that perches in the soul,
and sings the tune without the words,
and never stops at all.
Beautiful. That quote is posted on the shelf above my computer screen. A reminder of hope.

Great word choice!! Without hope a body withers and eventually dies (either spiritually or bodily….or both!). But ‘hope’ (trust/confidence) placed in/on something, or someone, which is not ‘truth’ is a false hope and will inevitably fail. “My hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus Christ and His righteousness”……….

My mind is drawn to a couple of well known quotes regarding HOPE: Where hope would otherwise become hopelessness, it becomes faith. And another: Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope. Hope helps us who aspire to be poets and lyricists to make the music. And the music makes us dance.
