I GAVE THIS SEMI driver a thumbs up as Randy and I passed him along Interstate 94/90 near the Wisconsin Dells Saturday morning.
To see such visible public patriotism and pride on Memorial Day weekend pleased me.
The driver nodded and smiled and, I expect, appreciated the appreciation.

What a nice sight that is!
I thought so, too.
He needs to reverse the flag………..stars should be on left!
Clearly you know your flag etiquette, Jay. I’m just thankful this trucker exhibits such public patriotism.
I was going to remark that the driver has the flag backwards, but I see Jay caught it too. Still a nice show of patriotism. And so nice of you to give the driver a thumbs up!! Such a small gesture to say ‘thank you’…..most of us don’t do that often enough. Some of us never do. Good for you Audrey! 😄

I wanted the driver to know I appreciated his efforts. And, yes, we need to extend these gestures of gratitude whenever we can.
How neat to see in an era where patriotic symbols aren’t as proudly displayed as they used to be.
Agreed.
That’s awesome$
I agree.
Love it! I have an American Flag vanity plate on the front of my truck. I truly enjoyed seeing all the American flags flying this weekend. Tropical Storm Alberto came through this weekend and at one point we had to take the flag down due to the weather. Flag Day is June 14th and then Hello! 4th of July. Proud to be American and soon to be an Aunt of a Marine come June 15th. Happy Day – Enjoy 🙂
Thank you for your “proud to be an American” displays of the flag. And congrats to the soon-to-be Marine.
Awesome — thumbs up to the semi driver and you! Have a great day!
🙂
I’m sure he appreciated your acknowledgment.
Generally, I think that truckers are some of the most patriotic citizens there are! And they aren’t afraid to express it in creative ways!
I expect part of that traces to their independent personalities and profession.
Yes, I think you are very correct and, maybe, they have time to ponder much…….AND listen to ‘talk radio’ (ugh!)……………
