Oh, baby, are these people really my relatives? July 8, 2012

Sweet baby Hank, 11 days old.

HANK MET THE RELATIVES recently. And even though he was only 11 days old then, he definitely had an opinion.

“You’re all looking at my t-shirt, but can’t you see my left foot is stuck? Dad?”

Or perhaps it was the opinion of a certain aunt, who shall remain nameless.

For the most part, though, my great nephew kicked back and took everything in stride—

Just a sampling of the family members who welcomed Hank, including his great grandma, my mom.

…all the cooing, the attention, the shuffling from one relative to the next…

These boots, a gift from a great aunt and uncle and cousins, upped the cuteness level.

…even the modeling of adorable patriotic boots.

Not quite a fist.

Hank kept his long fingers curled…

This was the most endearing thing to watch, little Hank tipping his head toward his mother when she spoke.

and a watchful eye on his mother, just in case.

Yes, baby Hank was quite kicked back and content. My mom raised six kids, so she knows a thing or twenty about babies.

  2. Beautiful Blessing – love his boots – thanks for sharing this wee one:)

The photos are excellent and show what Minnesota Summers are really like. The pic of ” Mr. Hank” being held by his Great Grandma is the epitome of contentment. Both look so relaxed, proud, and calm. I can see Hank is surrounded by love from his Parents and extended family. Any guy who can wear those great patriotic boots like Hank does, is tops in my book! The background of the green fields in 2 of the photos is so great to see. I never tire of the photos you post Audrey. All are taken with thought and perfect timing.

You are right. I could not stop looking at my mom holding her first great grandchild. Pure joy in her face. Pure contentment for little Hank. I love spending time with my family.

Stay tuned because sometime this week I’ll treat you to pictures of more green fields as taken from a gravel road. I promise, you will enjoy those photos.

Even though Hank has just come into our lives we love him so very much!!! We are happy that he doesn’t have the big ears on our side of the family, but we would keep him no matter what. His mom and dad are truly blessed and share their greatest blessing with the rest of the family
    Love you Little Hank

What a gorgeous name and what a beautiful baby. And the young mother looks so well! I think I was blubbering mess when mine were 10 days old. I’d love to give that little boy a cuddle! xx

Oh, yes, Hank’s mom looks great, like she hadn’t even just given birth. She had a C-section, too, so she’d had that recovery issue to deal with also. I plan to cuddle Hank the next time I see him. I passed this time as I prefer to hold babies when they’re a little older and bigger.

This is so much fun to look at/read! Thanks for sharing these pics. We love our little Hank. He’s been such a good baby and you wouldn’t believe how much more alert he is already and growing so fast!

    • Audrey Kletscher Helbling Says:

HanksMama, I can’t wait to see, and this time hold, Hank the next time we’re back in sw Minnesota. Will you be bringing him to the family reunion? Hugs and love to Hank and HanksMama and HanksDaddy.

  8. Those little boots are just too cute!
