I’M SENTIMENTAL. I appreciate receiving greeting cards and handwritten notes and letters. There’s something about pen put to paper that conveys thoughts, feelings, emotions better than a text or an email. Perhaps it’s the writer in me. Or the traditionalist.
When I opened a Mother’s Day card from my second daughter, I actually gasped in amazement. And delight. Miranda purchased a Lovepop card, a work of sculpted art.
If you are a fan of the television show Shark Tank, then you likely know about this Boston-based card company. Two young entrepreneurs started this business that creates cards described as “intricate 3D paper sculptures designed…on cutting edge software and then hand-crafted in the Asian art form of sliceform kirigami.”
Simply put, these are pop-up cards that WOW you as works of art.

Miranda took care in choosing the right card design for me. Daisies are one of my favorite flowers, reflecting the simplicity of my life-style and my appreciation for nature. Perfect. My daughter knows me well.

The giving of this card was made even better by the delivery method. Miranda handed the Lovepop to me Sunday morning. I can’t recall the last time my daughter, who lives 5 1/2 hours away in eastern Wisconsin, was with me on Mother’s Day. That makes this card even more dear, for the memories now connected to it.

Oh my goodness –this is THE perfect card for you! I will have to look for them. My favorite cards are obviously the homemade ones, the ones from my kids and the ones with heartfelt emotions from my husband. I always appreciate cards that have more than just a signature in them. It makes me think that the sender put a bit of time into thinking about me when they wrote. 🙂

I received a thank you card done in quilling. It is so beautiful I think I will frame it.
Now that sounds like one fabulous thank you card. I’ve seen quilled cards and they are beautiful.
I can’t really recall an outstanding (commercial) card but I do remember the “pop up” cards and books that I received growing up. Oh, to have those now! The handmade cards the boys made in their early years were the treasures I loved!!!!!
I bet nearly every mom would say the same about those precious cards crafted by little hands.
These new pop-up cards are much more elaborate and detailed thanks to technology.
I just watched that Shark Tank! (I record them) the Love Pop were fabulous- I guess that was an update. Lucky you! A few years ago my older son gave me a cute card- it looked like a laundry basket with a pile of dirty clothes. It was funny and apropos!

Your son sounds like he has a great sense of humor. My daughters always find humorously appropriate cards for their dad.
What a fun pop-up card. I, too, have enjoyed hand-made cards from my sons when they were growing up. But just yesterday I received a Mother’s Day card from my daughter-in-law thanking me for raising such a great son and then listed many shared qualities she sees in both him and me. It made me cry.

I haven’t seen these pop-up cards around here, but what a great idea! I think my favorite cards were the one’s my Danish grandma made by hand. She was an artistic person and used what she had around the house to create cards. The Valentine ones were the most beautiful and whimsical.

Yes I still have a few. She also made refrigerator magnets as party favors. I have those too.

Nice pop up card, not too many out there anymore. I love homemade cards, am such a crafty person. The most memorial treasure I’ve received from my son was a handmade wooden framed painted and decorated with hearts with a photo of him inside . Which I have displayed above my fireplace.
