Well that is a bummer! Maybe no air conditioning in the shop???
I expect the lack of AC was the reason. I simply loved the sign and will have a second one from that same shop posting tomorrow.
In our wanderings (especially very small towns), I have found that thrift shops located in older buildings have no A/C. Since income from such merchandise might be on the lower end of things and installation of anything smacking of an ‘upgrade’ quite expensive/not possible, the shopping experience has been similar to “flea markets” located on a very hot, very black parking lot on a sunny summer day. Just adds to the “thrill of the hunt” for me, though!!! LOL!
I expect the lack of AC was the reason for the shop’s closing. I, too, love the thrill of the hunt.
The joys of owning your own business I guess!
True.
Awww, sad.
I love the name of the store, too!! 🙂
So do I. I am not surprised that you like the name, My Inner Chick (aka dear Kim).
I agree with the no ac comments! I can’t imagine how hot and stale it would get without it.
Sometimes not even fans can take the edge off a hot and humid place. So, yeah, lack of ac is likely the reason for the closure.
That’s funny – good for them!
Be sure to check out another humorous sign at the same business in a post I published today.
Hope they didn’t go to a cool lounge. I have danced with a pitchfork, atop a haystack many a sweltering day, never thought of putting up a closed sign.
I can just picture you dancing with that pitchfork atop a haystack. You just brought back a lot of farm memories for me. Thank you.
