HE’S HERE, the grandson, my second grandchild. Isabelle’s not so little baby brother. And I am beyond in love with this beautiful baby boy.
My eldest daughter, Amber, gave birth to her son shortly after midnight Sunday. Isaac Henry weighed in at a chunky 9 lbs, 2 oz. and measured 22 ¼ inches. Who knew they measured in quarter inches? He’s tall like his daddy Marc.

Holding Grandpa’s finger. And, no, that’s not dirt. That’s grease permanently embedded in Randy’s skin. He’s an automotive machinist.
Isaac is healthy and darling and adored by all of us who love him, from California to Boston and many places in between.
Big sister Izzy, who turns three in early April, loved on her brother with cuddles and sweet words and a sweetness that melted this Grandma’s heart. While her parents and new baby brother were in the hospital, Randy and I cared for Izzy. Or rather played with her. Lots of Daniel Tiger and friends. Lots of book reading.
Finally, Baby Cake Boy, as Izzy early on named her unborn brother, is here. We have no idea whence that name came. It doesn’t matter. She calls him Isaac now, a biblical name. Henry comes from my side, the name of Isaac’s paternal great great grandfather.
What a joy to have another grandchild to love.

Adorable! Congrats to you and your whole family.
Thank you so much, Kiandra.
Aw. 💟❤
I agree. Awwwwwwww…
Congratulations, Audrey and family, Since I am an ocean away (over the Atlantic) from my grandchildren I love sharing your joy over your beautiful granddaughter, Izzy, and her new wonderful brother “Baby Cake Boy!” Thank you and blessings, from Wyonne
Oh, Wyonne, thank you for sharing in our joy. I wish you lived nearer your grandchildren. Technology helps, though, right? I live only an hour from my grandchildren. But their other set of grandparents live in California. Fortunately they see each other quite often even given the distance.
Welcome, Isaac. What a beautiful addition to your family. I know he will be so loved.
Thank you, Beth Ann. He is absolutely loved.
Congratulations on your second grandchild! What a great way to start the New Year’s with such a beautiful blessing from up above. God bless!
Isaac certainly is a gift from God, a blessing to all of us. We are grateful.
So sweet! Congratulations on the newest grand blessing!
I like that, “grand blessing.” Isaac is certainly that.
Thank you for your wishes.
Congratulations to your family! What a lovely way to start 2019. xoxo
It’s a great way to begin the new year. I thought of you when we were in your city.
Such exciting news! Congratulations!!!
Thank you, dear Valerie.
How wonderful! Baby Cake Boy is so adorable. Thanks for sharing the photos and your good news!
Thank you, Jena. I have a lot more photos, but am respecting the privacy of my daughter and her family by showing only these three.
Baby Cake Boy aka Isaac – how SWEET is Big Sis Izzy 🙂 What a Blessing – CONGRATS!!!
Thank you, Renee.
What joyful news in the midst of January. Makes that snow at least tolerable. Congrats to all.
Thank you, Bernadette. We really haven’t had much snow since that early December storm. My concern was that baby boy would be born during a winter storm or rush hour. He timed it right with arriving on a balmy weekend. No bad roads and tolerable traffic into and out of the metro.
I have been waiting for this post! Congratulations to everyone!!! These little boys are pure sweetness, enjoy this precious blessing to your family! I love his name, my sister’s baby was named Isaac a strong wonderful name! Keep the photo’s coming 🙂
Thank you, my friend. I love the name Isaac also, although several people have already misspelled it.
I have always found this name hard to spell, I always want to do double S’s. I have to look it up every time.
That’s exactly how several people have spelled it– with two S’s.
what very sweet photos-lucky all of you thanks for sharing your joy
Thank you, Sue.
Congratulations! How adorable. Nothing like a new baby.
Thank you. You’re right. There’s nothing quite like a new baby, especially when he’s your grandson.
One doesn’t have to even see in person the little one to fall in love with him. Even being great grand baby # 20 for us, he is loved. That little nose looks like his daddy’s at that age. I love the name as well as the child.
Oh, Norma. Your great grandson is beautiful. Just beautiful. I am so in love.
Congratulations on the birth of your grandson Audrey! A wonderful blessing for your family!
Thank you so much. Yes, Isaac is a blessing.
Congratulations on your growing family!
Thank you. Love that baby boy!
I can relate as we have so much in common. I welcomed #2 in December, she join her big sister who will be 3 in April. I wrote about it here: https://lobeholdblog.wordpress.com/2018/12/17/and-then-there-were-two/
Congrats!
Congratulations then to you also of grandbaby #2, the same ages as mine.
Congratulations! What a bundle of love, and I bet Izzy is head over heels. Well, I guess the whole family is, but a baby brother is special. I know I adore mine. We’ve always been close.
You crack me up about Randy’s hands! I came from a family of mechanics so I think embedded grease is completely normal! I hope Randy passes on that work ethic of his to Isaac… and a little grease and oil never hurt anyone!
I hope then that Izzy and Isaac are as close as you and your brother.
I posted a photo once of Randy’s hands holding a hamburger. And someone commented about his “dirty hands.” So I wanted to make sure everyone understood this is grease in his skin and not dirt. That’s the story behind my explanation. I am proud of my husband’s hardworking, grease-stained hands. Just like you are of the mechanics in your family.
What a joy!! Congratulations, Audrey! 🙂
Thank you. I’m pretty excited and happy.
