FOR YOU CLASSIC CAR buffs out there and for those of you who, like me, appreciate old cars for their design, history, color, or whatever, enjoy these photos from the recent Faribault Heritage Days Car Show:

One of three young boys who walked from a church up the hill to view the vehicles, including this 1932 Ford Coupe.

A true rainbow of colors! Having a son who does restoration and automotive/motorcycle painting, I can really appreciate some of what goes in to making such a showpiece! Awesome display! Hugs……………
Lots of time, energy and love invested in preserving these vehicles. So does your son own a few old vehicles?
No, he has done such for others. The largest project was for the neighboring town of Rushford. Some years ago the fire dept. contacted him to restore their antique firetruck (which didn’t really run, either). It became a family project and the results were beyond amazing. When it was brought to him it would go faster than, maybe, 20 mph. After the restore it traveled perfectly at road speed!! It’s on display in Rushford at their fire house. Brady is one who can do pretty much any type of project put before him (including “deer collisions” which are such a common occurrence!!!).
Sounds like one talented man.
He amazes me!!!! LOL!
What fun! Do you ever come up to the Twin Cities for the Street Rod event at the fairgrounds every summer? I love to watch the old cars drive up and down Snelling Avenue near our house.
I have never been to this event, although my husband has mentioned it a few times.
I remember the old blue and white chevy my dad had when we were wee little ones. Looked a lot like the red 55 chevy in your photos. My dad goes to many cars shows throughout the summer, He owns a restored 54 mustang, he thinks he’s pretty hot stuff when he drives around in it. He usually doesn’t venture to far from Rochester so don’t think he’s been to the one in Fairbault. I love the old ambulance photo, I actually remember when they looked like that 🙂 That orange car looks good enough to eat!
I love Mustangs. I never thought I would get into car shows. But taking my camera and notebook with me have allowed me to view them from a different perspective than just old cars.
I shared a link with the Sundowners Car Club FB page. Great pictures! Let me know if you don’t want the link posted and I’ll take it down.
Link sharing is great, Linda. Thank you.
Love the cars!!! The Sunkist one is striking!!!
It’s always interesting to see the creativity in paint colors applied to old cars to convert them into hot rods.
