“The Risen Lord,” painted in 1951 by my artist friend, Rhody Yule of Faribault, who died in June 2011 at the age of 92.
When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene… She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping. When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.— Mark 16: 9-11
Turn around Mary,He’s right behind you…He is risen!!!! Beautiful painting, Happy Resurrection Day Audrey 🙂
Ditto to you, Jackie. I know it was a beautiful one for you.
I like that, “Turn around, Mary.”
“He(she) who have ears, let him(her) hear”!!!! Eyes and ears, opened by the Holy Spirit view this world in/through a totally different Light!!!! Blessings to you….all!!!!!
As always, a most thoughtful and truthful comment.
Blessings to you and yours, too, Doreen, on this beautiful Easter.
Thank you …… it was a wonderful family time/day!!!!
Isn’t that the very best moment in history! And wouldn’t I have just loved to have been there. I just wonder about all the emotions Mary must have been experiencing and that leap from utter despair and sorrow to incredible joy and elation. If only they’d videoed that moment! xx
I know. I wonder how I would have reacted. With lots of questions, I expect.
Audrey, We stopped in Amboy at the Cottage with your recommendation and it was wonderful. What a gem. Thanks for the tip! Dee The Crafty Maven
You are most welcome, Dee. So glad you followed up on my suggestion. Love that home-grown eatery in a former gas station.
