We try to make it to Valdez for Halibut and Salmon fishing at least once a year but truth be known I prefer Trout fishing and eating. Here in the interior where Fairbanks is located we only have rivers and small lakes for these fish. The lakes in our area do not compare with those in Minnesota. You have real lakes there not the small potholes like we have with muddy (not sandy) shore lines. I miss fishing for good pan fish like bluegills, sunfish etc. sigh……………………………………..

Love this, I spent plenty of time this summer fishing, mostly from the dock, but our neighbor often trolled by and picked me up to fish in his boat with him. Rick does not fish, and neither does our friends wife, so there you have it.

    • May I laugh, Jackie? You and Rick bought a lake cabin and Rick doesn’t fish. I find that amusing. But I love that you are a strong fisherwoman.

Yes it does seem odd, but there is so much more to do than fish. I guess we arent the traditional couple who buy a cabin and the man goes out to fish, In our case it’s me 🙂 He does love his boat though, and will take me out fishing in it.

      • I think this is great, Jackie. You are right. There’s a lot more to do at a lake than fish. Be with family. Sit by the lake. Play board games. Engage in conversation. Nap… I’m sure you can add to that list.

I would be fishing along those reeds in the distance. I’m just sure there are some big bass lurking over there!
