THEY WAITED IN LINE to see Santa.
The moms with new babies. For photos and conversations.
What a joy to stand aside and witness those magical moments Saturday afternoon at Shattuck-St. Mary’s during the private prep school’s annual Campus Christmas Walk. Each December I head to Faribault’s east side to take in this event which begins with a holiday figure skating show.
Family-oriented activities followed. Crafts and cookie decorating and all those Santa visits.
And beautiful holiday music performed by students.
And, outside Shumway Hall, horse-drawn wagon rides that circled guests around this historic campus.
What a gift this event is to all of us. Thank you, Shattuck-St. Mary’s School, for opening your campus and connecting with the greater Faribault community, for building Christmas memories. I am grateful.

What a wonderful place! That pop of red really brought the season to the photos! The wood in the dining hall is just gorgeous! What a lovely campus.
Shattuck-St. Mary’s is defined by lovely historic buildings. It seems more East Coast college than small town Minnesota private prep boarding school. Students come from all over the world to attend Shattuck. I love when this school opens the campus to the community at Christmas and Easter and for arts events. You would love it.
what a fun festive event for the community-I’d enjoy the sleigh ride-enjoy the holiday season
I have yet to hop aboard the wagon for a ride. I wasn’t dressed warmly enough on Saturday with a stiff wind sweeping across campus.
Sure looks like fun! 🙂
It was, Penny. More posts to come about weekend happenings in Faribault.
We were at the Inn at Shattuck’s for our Faribault Flyer’s Christmas party Sunday evening. Going through the gate always feels like we’re entering another world.
I feel the same way about that entrance gate.
