IF YOU LIVE IN MINNESOTA, in the heart of farm land, you’ll totally understand the first part of the message below posted on a sign in front of the Henderson City Hall.
Slow moving farm machinery and deer chased from their habitat most assuredly are reasons to be extra cautious while traveling rural roads during the fall harvest.
As for that “Chilli on the Hilly,” strike the second “l” in “chilli” and you have chili served this coming Saturday at the Henderson House Bed and Breakfast up that road to the left (Minnesota Highway 19) and around the curve and then to the right up the steep hill.
Or, strike that second “l” in “chilli” and change the second “i” to a “y” and you have the current weather in Minnesota. Chilly. Ten inches of snow forecast for northwestern Minnesota today, folks.

Our daughter Emily, up in Grand Forks–UND, slid into her garage this morning on the slushy snow and ripped her mirror off her car! Lovely!
So…Minnesota got snow. We just returned from four days in Wisconsin so I am totally out of the loop on Minnesota weather. Thanks for the update and I’m glad your daughter’s car didn’t fare any worse than the ripped off mirror.
I did not hear the snow prediction!!! Glad I didn’t!! It is only blowy blowy blowy here in Iowa today but nice cooler fall weather. I know it is coming…..
Ah, the wind. You should have seen the waves on Lake Michigan in Door County, from whence we just returned.
We got some snow! I think they got more a little further north of us. Ours is mostly melted now, but even though they are in the middle of harvesting, I do not think a farmer will be found who is not thankful for some moisture….even if it is snow on the unfrozen ground…..
You’re right. The moisture is so much needed that no one should complain.
We traveled behind a few slow moving farm machines yesterday while out looking at leaves. There were combines in every field…. busy time for them farmers 🙂
Yup, we saw farmers busy in the fields from Faribault to Door County, Wisconsin.
During the harvest we have to be careful here also. Photo is very interesting and I love the title.
I thought the sign fitting and amusing.
